The Sea Hawk FB.5 represents the second of the fighter-bomber models for this series. You may notice slightly heavier handling due to the payloads on the armed versions of the model. The FB.5 was fitted with the uprated RR Nene Mk.103 engine, supplying 5,200lb thrust, as an effort to provide extra power for the variety of payloads of increasing weight.
Points of recognition for the FB.5 include underwing payloads, lack of radio altimeter aerials under the tailplane and the inclusion of the small ram intake on the starboard forward fuselage. It also had an array of UHF radio aerial antennae on the fuselage spine, and small IFF stubs as opposed to the large F.1/2 'blade' type. Lastly, some FRU types carried searchlight pods underwing.
